    Biking
    Tuff Riders Mountain Bike Club members ride each Tuesday and Thursday, leaving at 5:30 p.m. from the hospital parking lot. Newcomers are welcome.
    Table tennis
    The Los Alamos Table Tennis Club meets to play table tennis from 7:30-10 p.m. Tuesdays and 9:30 a.m.-noon Saturdays in the lower level of the Betty Ehart Senior Center. Three tables are available.

Bandelier Superintendent Jason Lott will present, “How We Spent Our Summer.” He will discuss the Las Conchas Fire, the subsequent flood, Operation Frijoles Garden and the immediate future of Bandelier.

    The Los Alamos Arts Council presents pianist Frances Meier at the December Brown Bag concert at noon at Fuller Lodge.

    Drivers needed

    Los Alamos Lions Club provides services to the community, including the HELP program. The program provides free transportation for medical treatment and appointments outside the county. Patients are transported to Española, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. There are 30 drivers, but more are always needed. If you would like to be a volunteer driver call Barbara Croley at 672-3618 or Lee Sullivan at 661-8037.

    Today

    The annual North Pole workshop and Luminaria Walk will be from 5-7 p.m. at the North Mesa Stables. Dress warmly, wear walking shoes and enjoy the North Mesa Stables lit up with luminarias and holiday lights. Afterward, head to the Posse Lodge for professional digital photos with Santa and his elves, warm drinks, light refreshments and a holiday craft. Fee for photos with Santa is $5.

    The JFK exhibit at the Bradbury Science Museum is ending. The last day to see the exhibit featuring John F. Kennedy’s 1962 visit to Los Alamos will be Dec. 4. Up next is an exhibit commemorating the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Watch for details.

    The December meeting of the Los  Alamos Master Gardeners will be a holiday potluck at 6 p.m. at the home of Denise George, 411 Cheryl, White Rock.

    Bring a song to sing for tryouts at 7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Unitarian Church, 1328 Sage. A new musical, the world premier of “Petra and the Jay,” will be produced April 13 and 14, 2012. Cast includes 13 speaking and/or singing parts and a chorus.     Art openings

    An opening reception for “Continuum” by Michael Levin will be from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6 at photo-eye Gallery, 376-A Garcia St., Santa Fe. The exhibit will be on display through Feb. 4.

    Arts and crafts fairs

    The 23rd annual Winter Spanish Market will be Friday-Sunday at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 201 W. Marcy St., Santa Fe.

    The 11th Annual Contemporary Hispanic Winter Market will be from 1-8 p.m. Dec. 9; and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. Among the works exhibited will be various types of modern media including: painting, sculptures, photography, printmaking, furniture, ceramics, jewelry and more. Admission is free.
