    The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos presents the Fairy Tale Thursdays film series at 6 p.m. in the UNM-LA Student Center. The film will be “Pan’s Labyrinth.”

    Registration for the next session of dog training classes offered by the Los Alamos Obedience Club began March 12. Classes begin the week of April 9. Class schedule, registration guidelines and registration forms are available on the LADOC website at ladoc.dogbits.com and at 246 East Road. Registration materials must be postmarked by March 23.

    Lads of Enchantment, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, invites the public to join them in song. They meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the United Church of Los Alamos, Graves Hall.  

    The Los Alamos Choral Society is recruiting singers. Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. All singers are welcome.

    The Los Alamos Community Winds invites all interested musicians to join its upcoming concerts. The LACW rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays. lacw.org.

    The Spanish Colonial Arts Society presents a woodcarving workshop with Pete Ortega, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Participants will carve a series of three small animals, each requiring more practice, with Ortega’s guidance. Cost of the class is $75 for Society members and $90 for non-members and includes a $15 materials fee. All participants need to bring a brown bag lunch.
