    Zane Bennett Contemporary Art invites young art enthusiasts to engage with art in the “Under Thirty-Five” exhibit.     Lads of Enchantment, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, invites the public to join them in song. They meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the United Church of Los Alamos, Graves Hall.  

    The Los Alamos Choral Society is recruiting singers. Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. All singers are welcome.

    The Los Alamos Community Winds invites all interested musicians to join its upcoming concerts. The LACW rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays. lacw.org.

    Los Alamos High School alumni Abran Chavez and Robert Keyser are slated to discuss their careers as machinists with Los Alamos High School students, from 11:15-11:50 a.m. in the choir room. Both are employed at Los Alamos National Laboratory and will address the students as part of the Ambassador Program, which is sponsored by the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.     The Mesa Public Library hosts a Poetry Gathering at 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs rotunda.

    The Los Alamos Genealogical Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in Room 3 of Mesa Public Library. Ron Smith will talk about the 1940 U.S. Census, which will be released to the public in April 2012. The public is invited.

    A Valentine Benefit Concert featuring pianist Juanita Madland will be at 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. The concert will benefit the Los Alamos Arts Council. Tickets are $20 and available at CB Fox Department Store.

    The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture will present a major retrospective spanning 20 years of the self-taught artist Margarete Bagshaw. Opening from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, “Margarete Bagshaw: Breaking the Rules” will feature more than 30 paintings, bronze and clay as wall art and multi-colored ceramic vessels that demonstrate the breadth and multi-dimensionality of her work.
