    Art openings

    Join Los Alamos County Library’s Carol Meine for the opening of an exhibit in her long-running series of works on paper, “Drawing: X Marks the Spot,” from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 3 at the Las Cruces Museum of Art.     There will be an artist reception from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday featuring “Domestic Variations,” a photo exhibit by Julie Blackmon. The opening will be at photo-eye Gallery, 376-A Garcia St., Santa Fe.

    “Boom Blooms, Bugs and Blossoms,” an exhibit featuring work by Cheri Reckers and Michael Ceschiat, will be on display through July 27.

    Music

    Lads of Enchantment, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, invites the public to join them in song. They meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the United Church of Los Alamos, Graves Hall.  

    The Los Alamos Choral Society is recruiting singers. Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. All singers are welcome.

    The Los Alamos Community Winds invites all interested musicians to join its upcoming concerts. The LACW rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays. lacw.org.

    The HillStompers hold weekly rehearsals at 7 p.m. Mondays at the United Church (no drill). Anyone who plays a marching band instrument is welcome, regardless of age or skill level. 661-7646.
