    “Things with Wings,” is a juried group exhibit displaying the work of Los Alamos artists and artists from northern New Mexico. Daily through June 14 at the Fuller Lodge Art Center.

    Los Alamos Farmers Market. 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library parking lot. Eat fresh, eat local and don’t forget the contest. Musician Jill Cohn will be performing from 9 a.m. to noon.

    The Los Alamos Genealogical Association will meet 7 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library in Los Alamos. The speaker will be Eowyn Langholf from Albuquerque and her topic will be “A Quickie on the Wiki, It’s not that Tricky.” The public is invited.

Each artist has an interpretation of the theme, as reflected in paintings, ceramics, photographs and manipulated digital media. The Portal Gallery features the woodcut prints of Lily Schlien. Daily through Saturday at the Fuller Lodge Art Center.

    Local Color: Judy Chicago in New Mexico 1984-2014 opens at the New Mexico Museum of Art and runs through Oct. 12. Public reception. 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday. Hosted by the Women’s Board of the Museum of New Mexico. Free and open to the public.

    “Imprints of Home, Works on Paper,” is a group show featuring art prints, and poems by 12 artists. First Friday artist reception 5-8:30 p.m. Friday at the Weyrich Gallery in Albuquerque. Other artists’ receptions are 3-6 p.m. July 5 and July 19. Show closes July 25.

    Jennifer J.L. Jones: “Invisible Thread.” Show runs through June 8 at Hunter Kirland Contemporary
in Santa Fe.

    A special guest exhibition, “Golden Paths,” acrylic and gold leaf paintings by Edwina Milner, will be on exhibit June 12 to July 7 at the New Concept Gallery. The reception is from 5-7 p.m. June 20 and is open to the public.

    Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces an exhibition: “Complications:” Works by Matthew Szösz and “Byways:” Works by Damian Stamer. The exhibition will be from 5-7 p.m. June 27 through July 19. The opening reception will be from 5-7 p.m. June 27.

    The Los Alamos Adobe Users Group (LAAUG), meets from 7-9 p.m., the first Tuesday of each month, upstairs in the Fuller Lodge Art Center. The focus of LAAUG is digital photography post-processing.     Josh Dolin and Sydney Sivils, 2010 Los Alamos High School graduates, won the International Championship of the collegiate division Advertising Campaign competition at the 2014 DECA International Career Development Conference held in Washington, D.C. in April. Dolin and Sivils are graduating seniors at University of New Mexico. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

    Kimberly Budil has been appointed by the University of California as vice president for Laboratory Management in the UC Office of the President and as an executive committee governor on the LANS and LLNS Boards of Governors.
    Budil is a 27-year employee of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). She is program manager of LLNL’s Nuclear Counterterrorism Program in the Global Security Principal Directorate.
