    Today
    Los Alamos High School National Art Honor Society is hosting a Renaissance Spaghetti Dinner 6-8 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on North Road. Funds raised will be used to support the NAHS scholarship. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 13 and younger and may be purchased at the door.

     The Los Alamos Community of Atheists will host a discussion about atheism-related books. Do you have a favorite book you’d like to tell us about? Are you a fan of Richard Dawkins, or is there something more obscure that interests you? Join us from 6:30-8 p.m. in meeting room 1 of the Mesa Public Library. Questions?     New Mexico Consortium: Talk by Dr. Richard Sayre, director, at 7 p.m. at PEEC. Talk sponsored by Los Alamos Sustainable Energy Network.

    The March Atomic Film Festival featuring “On the Beach,” will be at 7 p.m. in Fuller Lodge. The Atomic Film Festival, held every other month except in the summer when it is held monthly, is free and open to the public, with support from Dr. Arthur Montoya, DDS and Re/MAX Los Alamos.

    The Los Alamos Table Tennis Club meets from 7:30-10 p.m. Tuesdays; and from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturdays, at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, lower level. Class schedule, registration guidelines and registration form will be available on the LADOC website ladoc.dogbits.com and at the LADOC building, 246 East Road.     The next meeting of the Los Alamos Geological Society will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 92 East Road. The featured speaker will be Shari Kelley,  a geophysicist and field geologist at the New Mexico Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in Socorro and an adjunct professor of geology at New Mexico Tech. Her talk is titled, “Timing of the incision of the Grand Canyon from a unique perspective.”

  • La Leche League meeting

    La Leche League of Los Alamos will discuss “Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties” at its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Teen Room at the First United Methodist Church, 715 Diamond Dr.
    All interested, pregnant, or breastfeeding women are welcome to learn and share, through mother-to-mother support, the basics and benefits of breastfeeding.  A lending library with books and audio tapes concerning childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting and nutrition is available. Nursing babies, and toddlers who have difficulty separating, are welcome.
    LLL is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing information, education, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.

    The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. at UNM-LA, Building 2, Room 203. The speaker will be Frances Fernandes, president of SFFRW.
