    Art openings
    Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces an exhibition and paintings by Michael Freitas Wood, titled, “Presentiment.” The exhibit will be through April 29 at 435 S. Guadalupe St.

    The NSMA Senior Visual Arts Exhibition opens Friday, April 26, from 5-7 p.m. and runs through May 11. Red Dot Gallery is located at 826 Canyon Rd., Santa Fe. Red Dot is open Saturday and Wednesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 5 pm. The gallery is closed Monday and Tuesday.

    The Los Alamos Volunteer Examiner Group will give exams for amateur radio licenses at 6:30 p.m. in the Club Meeting Room at 4017 Arkansas (the Old Fire Barn). Those testing for a new license will need a picture ID or two other forms of ID with name and address on them (utility bill, credit card bill or other) and a test fee of $15, either in cash or a check made out to “ARRL VEC.” Those in attendance will also need to fill in their Social Security number on the form 605 License Application. Those seeking a license upgrade will need the picture ID or two other forms of ID plus the original license and a copy of the license or a valid CSCE (Certificate of Successful Completion of Exam) and a copy of the CSCE, plus the exam fee of $15.     The Underground of Enchantment Traveling Exhibit, “Lechuguilla Cave of Carlsbad Caverns National Park,” will host an opening reception from 4-5:30 p.m. at Mesa Public Library Art Gallery; and from 5-6:30 p.m. at Pajarito Environmental Education Center.
    Mapping Lechuguilla Cave. Local caver John Lyles will present highlights of his involvement in the Lechuguilla Cave mapping project.     The Los Alamos Concert Association presents Amsterdam’s Calefax Reed Quintet at 4 p.m. in the Smith Auditorium. Oboe, clarinet, sax, bass clarinet and bassoon playing music with a French twist: Gershwin’s “An American in Paris,” Kurt Weill’s “Three Penny Opera” and works by Debussy, Ravel and Rameau.     Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces an exhibition, “European Perspectives, The Radiant Line.” European artists Francois Morellet, Gregoire Cheneau, Diana Blok, Pieter Bijwaard, Oliver Mosset, Ruth Gschwendtner-Wölfe, Miguel Mont and Tony Soulie will show paintings, prints, photos and neon sculpture. The artists’ work focuses on light, line and color. The exhibit will be up from April 26-May 24 at 435 S. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe.
