    The Los Alamos Choral Society is recruiting singers. Rehearsals are from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. All singers are welcome.

    The Los Alamos Community Winds invites all interested musicians to join its upcoming concerts. The LACW rehearses from 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays. lacw.org.

    Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces the exhibition of James Harvard, “Staying Ahead of the Beast.” This exhibit spans 40 years of painting with an emphasis on his “Abstract Illusionist” era, featuring paintings, archival boxes and sculptures dating from the late 1970s to 2012. The show opens June 29, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. at 435 S. Guadalupe St.

    Dances of India, a free performance presented by the Los Alamos Family Y Kathak and Bhratnatyam classes, will be from 7-8 p.m. at the White Rock Town Hall. The performance is part of the Los Alamos Public Library’s Family Fun Nights.

    Greg Fisher, Los Alamos County economic vitality administrator will be the speaker at the League of Women Voters Lunch with a Leader at 11:45 a.m. at PEEC.     “Other Views,” an exhibit of new work by Verne Stanford will open with a reception from 5-7 p.m. June 29 at Mill Fine Art, 530 Canyon Road, Santa Fe.  The exhibit will be on display through July 24.

    One of the activities that occur during the Los Alamos Relay For Life is a Bird House Auction featuring the artistic talents of local artists. A special preview of — and early bidding for — the bird houses will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today and Friday at Los Alamos National Bank.  The American Cancer Society’s Los Alamos Relay for Life will be at Ashley Pond June 15 and 16. A free dinner for cancer survivors and caregivers will be at 5 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Senior Center on June 15. RSVP Susan Brockway at susbrockway@gmail.com or 505-690-4496 to attend the dinner.
