You can't pick your friend's nose, but...

With Selection Sunday nearly upon us, I’m going to throw my hat into the ring and pick what I think might end up happening for the Class 4A postseason basketball tournaments.
These are completely unscientific selections, based largely on statewide ranking and record, with a couple of surprises in there.
For example, on the girls side, I’m taking a chance that the Kirtland Central Broncos will jump ahead of a lot of teams to get the No. 11 seed. Is there any basis in logic for this pick? Very little, except that the Broncos have turned their season around and become respectable. (How many times has the previous sentence ever been written? When talking about the Broncos, it’s usually more along the lines of: “Can anyone beat the Broncos this year? Short answer: No. Long answer: No way.”)
For the boys, the top 6 or 7 is pretty well set, the rest of the field is a hot mess. My Nos. 12-16 slots are nothing but blind guesses.
Think you can do better than me (I’m sure at least a few people can)? Prove it.
