RIO RANCHO - Cory Geyer scored a third round pin over Robbie Kellie of Del

Norte to advance to the championship quarterfinals of the Class 4A state

wrestling championship tournament.

Geyer is 2-0 in the championship bracket. He's the only Hilltopper still

In his second round bout, 135-pounder Alyc Montoya suffered a knee injury in

the opening seconds of the second period against Gallup's Matthew O'Toole.

He withdrew from the bout and wasn't expected to compete in the remainder of

the tournament. The extent of his injury wasn't immediately known.

Ben Mitsunaga (140 pounds), Brian Geyer (160) and Peter Brewer (171) all

fell in the second round for the Hilltoppers.
