County councilors and members of the White Rock Master Plan Implementation Committee and elementary school students were on hand to take part in the ribbon cutting for the Cañada del Buey Trail in White Rock. The trail begins just south of N.M. 4, east of Sherwood Boulevard and ends just west of Rover Boulevard. Taking part in the event was a a civics lesson to a fifth-grade class from Chamisa Elementary, who were on hand to help with the ribbon cutting. The students were also there because the trail connects to Piñon Elementary, as well as to the local library and the activity center, keeping the kids safe from traffic while they are on the paved trail.
