LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Aubrey Vandiver finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds and Wyoming defeated New Mexico 78-65 Tuesday night.
Jade Kennedy added 23 points and Hillary Carlson had 15 for the Cowgirls (18-5, 8-2 Mountain West), who hit a season-high 13 3-pointers and pulled away in the second half when they shot 64.3 percent.
Jasmine Patterson led the Lobos (8-13, 2-7) with 17 points, and Amanda Best had 14.
Trailing 44-43 after a jumper by Best with 12:41 to play, Wyoming took the lead for good with a 10-3 run. Vandiver scored the go-ahead basket with one of her career-high six 3-pointers, and Kennedy had five points, including one of her career-high seven 3s, during the run.
New Mexico fell behind 14-6 before rallying to take the lead on five occasions but never by more than three points.
