Editor’s note: This story and the following story are part of a series introducing the characters featured in Agatha Christie’s “Go Back For Murder” production at Los Alamos Little Theater.
I remember Carla from when she was a little girl. And now, I can’t believe she is getting ready to get married. I am very happy for her! I don’t quite understand why the letter Carla received from her mother confuses her. As far as I’m concerned, the facts are clear and there is no point in making us all relive them. We’ll never know exactly what really happened, even if we are all put in a room together. We’ll never know who exactly took a poison from my laboratory. This gathering will only rehash negative feelings. Caroline was a beautiful woman and it always saddened me of her marriage choice with Amyas, especially now after everything has happened and they are both gone.
Well, I don’t know about everyone else, but I personally don’t want to live through that nightmare again. It was most devastating. It also will greatly surprise me if others choose to attend this little “gathering.” We’ve all tried to move on with life. But I will help in any way that I can, if it means that Carla can finally put this behind her and be happy.
