Los Alamos WinterFest 2007 fills downtown Los Alamos and surrounding areas with a multitude of co-promoted events Friday through Sunday. The annual weekend-long event is sponsored by Los Alamos MainStreet as a way to encourage attendees to shop for their holiday gifts in Los Alamos rather than spending money off the Hill.Friday activities:• Los Alamos Garden Club Wreath Sale sponsored by the Los Alamos Garden Club from 9-11 a.m. at Los Alamos National Bank or until wreaths sell out.Come pick out a professionally grown and arranged wreath in the lobby of Los Alamos National Bank. Come early before they’re all gone.• Annual Affordable Art Sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Jan 7 at the Art Center at Fuller Lodge. The main gallery is transformed into a holiday gift paradise brimming with original, affordable arts and crafts. Everything priced $10 - $250.• Fourteenth Annual Crches From Around the World from 2-7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Come see the annual display of international manger scenes from around the world.• “The Nutcracker” performed at 7 p.m. by Dance Arts Los Alamos at Duane Smith Auditorium. The Nutcracker Ballet is based on the book, “The Nutcracker & the Mouse King” written by E.T.A. Hoffman.
