* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... 3 TO 6 INCHES ABOVE 7500 FEET AND 1 TO 3 INCHES BELOW 7500 FEET.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL BECOME LOCALLY HEAVY THROUGH TONIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF LATE MONDAY MORNING.

* WINDS... SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH SHIFTING TO WEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 40 MPH TONIGHT.

* SNOW LEVELS... TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR SNOW AT ALL LOCATIONS.

* LOCAL IMPACTS... HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH REDUCED VISIBILITIES. THESE CONDITIONS WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF HIGHWAYS 64... 76... 518 AND 434... AS WELL AS STATE ROADS 4 AND 502 NEAR THE JEMEZ MOUNTAINS.

A WINTER STORM CROSSING NORTHWEST NEW MEXICO WILL SWEEP TO THE EAST ACROSS THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE STATE THROUGH THE WASHINGTONS BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY. SNOW... HEAVY AT TIMES... WILL SPREAD EASTWARD AND INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THROUGH TONIGHT. GUSTY SOUTHWEST WINDS OVER THE AREA WILL SHIFT TO THE WEST LATE THIS EVENING AND STRENGTHEN OVERNIGHT. GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY SNOW WILL CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH POOR VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. THE MAIN FOCUS FOR HEAVY SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR TONIGHT ALONG WEST SLOPES OF THE SAN JUAN AND SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.
