A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST TODAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... STORM TOTALS REACHING TWO TO FIVE INCHES OVER THE NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS AND EAST CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST PLAINS. THREE TO SIX INCHES FOR PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL MOUNTAINS BELOW 7500 FEET WITH SIX TO TWELVE INCHES ABOVE 7500 FEET.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL DECREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY LATE THIS MORNING AND INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON.

* WINDS... WIDESPREAD SIGNIFICANT WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED.

* SNOW LEVELS... TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLD ENOUGH FOR SNOW AT ALL LEVELS.

* LOCAL IMPACTS... HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE MORNING. SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES BELOW 1 MILE AT TIMES.

ONLY TRAVEL IN AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL... KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT... FOOD... AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

A WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD SNOW OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. EASTERN SLOPES OF THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN MOUNTAINS WILL REMAIN THE FAVORED AREAS FOR ADDITIONAL SNOW.

THE COVERAGE AND INTENSITY OF SNOW WILL DECREASE THROUGH THE LATE MORNING AND INTO THE AFTERNOON. HOWEVER... ADDITIONAL MOUNTAIN SNOW AND LOWER ELEVATION RAIN AND SNOW IS POSSIBLE SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT AS THE UPPER LOW REORGANIZES OVER SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO AND THEN EJECTS NORTHEAST.
