THE WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... ADDITIONAL NEW SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS ACROSS THE HIGHER WESTERN SLOPES OF THE JEMEZ AND SOUTHERN SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAINS.

* TIMING... SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO DECREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON.

* WINDS... SIGNIFICANT WINDS ARE NOT EXPECTED.

* SNOW LEVELS... ACCUMULATING SNOWS WILL GENERALLY FAVOR ELEVATIONS HIGHER THAN 8000 FEET.

* LOCAL IMPACTS... PERIODS OF MODERATE SNOW AND LOCALIZED FOG WILL DROP VISIBILITIES BELOW ONE MILE AT TIMES THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. HAZARDOUS WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED. TRAVEL MAY BE DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE... ESPECIALLY OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN.

THE UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO QUICKLY MOVE NORTHEAST ACROSS WESTERN NEW MEXICO TODAY. WHILE MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION IS BREAKING UP OVER NEW MEXICO... SOME REMAINING SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO FAVOR THE JEMEZ AND THE SANGRE DE CRISTO MOUNTAIN RANGES THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS OF ONE TO THREE INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS ABOVE 8000 FEET THROUGH 5 PM ON TOP OF THE SEVERAL INCHES THAT HAVE ALREADY FALLEN.
