SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS... CENTRAL HIGHLANDS... SOUTH CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND HIGHLANDS... RATON RIDGE/JOHNSON MESA... NORTHEAST HIGHLANDS... EASTERN LINCOLN COUNTY... SOUTHWEST CHAVES COUNTY

* WINDS... SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO NEARLY 40 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 50 TO 55 MPH.

* TIMING... WINDS WILL REACH ADVISORY SPEEDS THIS MIDDAY AND THEN WILL CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING. WINDS WILL DIMINISH SLOWLY AFTER DARK.

* VISIBILITY... OCCASIONALLY LOWERING TO BETWEEN 1 AND 3 MILES SUNDAY DUE TO BLOWING DUST.

* LOCAL IMPACTS... INTERSTATE 25 WILL BE IMPACTED BY BLOWING DUST FROM LAS VEGAS TO THE COLORADO BORDER.

MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION WHILE TRAVELLING. SUDDEN GUSTS OF WIND MAY CAUSE YOU TO LOSE CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE. EXTRA ATTENTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO CROSS WINDS.

WIDESPREAD STRONG WINDS ELSEWHERE ACROSS NORTHERN AND CENTRAL NEW MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...

SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL CONTINUE TO TIGHTEN OVER NEW MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON. ALSO WINDS ALOFT WILL BE ON THE INCREASE. THIS COMBINED WITH DEEP MIXING OF THE STRONGER WINDS ALOFT TO THE SURFACE WILL CREATE WIDESPREAD WINDY CONDITIONS INTO THE EVENING HOURS. THE STRONGEST WINDS... POSSIBLY EVEN REACHING DAMAGING LEVELS... CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS WESTERNMOST AS WELL AS SOME OF THE HIGHER TERRAIN LOCALES IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO. THE STRONG WINDS WILL ALSO CREATE AREAS OF BLOWING DUST WHICH MAY REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO WELL BELOW THREE MILES AT TIMES... ESPECIALLY OVER WEST CENTRAL AND EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. THE STRONG WINDS WILL SUBSIDE SLOWLY AFTER SUNSET... BUT STRONG WINDS MAY WELL LINGER WELL INTO THE NIGHT ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO.
