* LOCATION... INCLUDES THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND HIGHLANDS... JEMEZ MOUNTAINS AND LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEY.

* WINDS... WEST TO NORTHWEST 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH.

* TIMING... STRONG WINDS WILL DEVELOP EARLY FRIDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

* VISIBILITY... LOCALLY REDUCED BELOW 3 MILES IN BLOWING DUST.

* LOCAL IMPACTS... STRONG CROSS WINDS MAY IMPACT HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES ON NORTH TO SOUTH ORIENTED ROADWAYS.

A VIGOROUS UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM COMBINED WITH A STRONG SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT STRETCHED OVER NEW MEXICO WILL CONTINUE TO RESULT IN STRONG WEST WINDS EARLY THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY. HIGHEST... AND POTENTIALLY DAMAGING... WINDS ARE EXPECTED ALONG AND EAST OF THE CENTRAL MOUNTAIN CHAIN INTO THE SURROUNDING HIGHLANDS... AS WELL AS PORTIONS OF THE WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST MOUNTAINS ON FRIDAY. WINDS HAVE DIMINISHED OVER PORTIONS OF THE VALLEYS AND PLAINS AREAS THIS EVENING... BUT WILL INCREASE AGAIN ON FRIDAY.
