White Rock draft plan goes public

The public is invited to review a draft master plan for White Rock, developed by consultants Moore Iacofano Goitsman (MIG) beginning at 6 p.m. today in the White Rock Town Hall, in the community complex on Longview Drive.The meeting is the fourth community forum in the process, which has as its goal to revitalize the commercial district of White Rock into a place that provides opportunities for walking, shopping and gathering. The key to success will be to engage property and business owners, local residents, government officials, and potential investors in a process that builds faith, excitement and momentum toward a more prosperous and strategic future for White Rock.A steering committee meeting will be held Thursday to review the results of tonight’s meeting, and the draft plan is slated to be presented to council at its March 18 meeting.The results of previous community forums and steering committee meetings are posted on the website www.planningwhiterock.org.
