Dear Editor,
With regard to Colleen Hanlon’s letter of June 19: It seems that we can look forward to continuing controversy about the location of a skateboard park. Perhaps surveillance cameras would solve the problem. These are in widespread use all over the world for a myriad of security problems and, as I understand it, the library site was chosen near the police station because of security issues. East Park, the former site or any open area would be a candidate given adequate surveillance. A related issue is cutting trees at the library site. Couldn’t this be avoided with proper CCTV?
