Stephan Gerstl and Katharina (Kati) Krome are pleased to announce their wedding, which took place in Biberach, Germany, on Oct. 2, 2010, due to both extended families’ German residences. The groom’s parents are Andrea and Siegfried Gerstl of Los Alamos and the bride is the daughter of Inge and Christian Krome of Stadthagen, Germany.
Stephan graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1994, followed by a bachelor’s degree in physics at UC San Diego and a doctorate in material science at Northwestern University in 2005. He then worked for five years with a nanotechnology company in Madison, Wis.
Kati graduated in Germany, finishing her master’s degree in nutrition and food science at the University of Kiel in 2002, followed by an internship at the Los Alamos Medical Center. She then worked for the universities of Cincinnati, Ohio and Madison, Wis.
Both are currently living in Dusseldorf, where Stephan is a visiting scientist at the Max-Planck Institute.
As of March 2011 they will be living in Zurich, Switzerland, where Stephan will lead the new atom probe tomography group at the ETH University.
