We do need parking options

Dear Editor,

I would like to suggest that Mr .Vincent Chiravalle, a candidate for the local county council reconsider his view about building a parking lot at the new Trinity Site on Central Avenue.

His objection is that it will cost too much money to buy the land and build the garage.  On the other hand, I would like to point out that the County Street Landscaping  Project all along Central in the area of the Merrimac Shopping Center and as far as Knecht Street has recently removed the street parking on Central, replacing it with crosswalks for the handicapped and what looks like flower beds.

It has now become difficult to park at the Merrimac Center for shopping and for lunch at the numerous restaurants along there and more parking will have to be found.

I think we need the parking garage that is to be built along Trinity at Trinity Site to make up for other parking that has disappeared.

It no doubt hurts businesses between Trinity and Central when people are unable to park there.  Yes, it will cost money, but it will also cost taxes if people are unable to shop and have meals due to parking problems.
