A water transmission line ruptured at the intersection of N.M. 4 and the Truck Route Tuesday night.
DPU and emergency crews were on the scene by about 6:30 p.m., cleaning up the mess and trying to access the line.
“Crews worked all night trying to access it and clamp it off,” DPU spokeswoman Julie Williams-Hill said. “They just received the 16-inch pipe to make repairs and they said they should be done by noon.”
Williams said one of the lanes on N.M. 4 is partially closed but the road is open in both directions.
Nobody in White Rock was without water and there was no change in water pressure, Williams-Hill said.
“They are unsure of a cause,” Williams-Hill said.
But a worker at the scene Tuesday night said there was a corroded pipe.
DPU also reported a power outage in White Rock Tuesday night as well.
According to the DPU facebook page, “We are currently investigating reported outage in the Todd Loop area of White Rock, and will post here as soon as we have further information. Preliminary customer reports indicate the outage started a 9 p.m. last night, but this has not yet been verified.”
