KERRVILLE – Fish rejoice, but the rest of us grieve the loss of Walter Warren Clendenen.
Warren, 91, passed away at Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville, Texas on Feb. 7. He had been suffering from lung problems associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and died peacefully in his sleep.
Warren was born Nov. 16, 1920 in San Angelo, Texas to Walter Lee Clendenen and Ada Leticia Barbee. He grew up mostly on a ranch outside Rankin with three siblings, Bill, Dale and Jeff.
He married Bernice Lorraine “Jonsey” White July 29, 1941 in Tankersly, Texas.
A graduate from Artesia High School in Artesia, N.M., he went on to serve in the Navy during World War II.
