Valor does existDear Editor,While I was not really surprised at Mr. Ragsdale’s attack on my opinion that more than two defenders of freedom in the past five years should merit the Congressional Medal of Honor, I see no reason to engage in a battle of wits with him. It is not in my nature to fight an unarmed man.But what does confuse me is why the ditto-heads are so quick to attack differing opinions, even as brave men and women are dying to give us all the freedom to do exactly that. The insanity of this situation is quickly buried by the rhetoric of those “rushing” to challenge anyone who dares to differ, who dares to speak, who dares to think. Our fighting men and women are “the bravest and most honorable the world has ever seen,” but they don’t deserve the medal of honor? Two dozen soldiers received that same medal at Little Big Horn. Clearly, someone out there needs to take a few spoonfuls of perspective. All I was saying is that after five years of fighting a war, which the president himself has called the most important fight for freedom our nation has ever seen, it is a national disgrace not to recognize the true measure of valor exhibited by our forces. As the ditto-heads and I debate medals and rules of traffic for bicycles, men and women are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan.Unlike Mr.
