Officials with the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities (DPU) announced scheduled road work on N.M. 4 Tuesday.
After repairs to a water leak were completed today, motorists reported another leak farther south on N.M. 4.
A section of the northbound lane on N.M. 4, south of East Jemez Road will be closed at 7:45 a.m. Crews will excavate on the east side of the road to expose and repair the leaking section of 16-inch concrete cylinder pipe.
DPU said every attempt will be made to conclude by noon Tuesday, however work could continue into the evening.
A flagging operation will permit traffic to travel north and south intermittently in the southbound single lane.
Motorists can expect traffic delays beginning Tuesday morning and into the evening.
Drivers are asked to exercise caution when approaching the work zone and be prepared to stop.
