Someone once said, “They will not long remember what you teach them but they will forever remember how you made them feel.” For Judy Bjarke McKenzie, this statement is certainly true. McKenzie has taught for 32 year, 23 of which was spent at Barranca Elementary School. She touched a lot of lives in this time.
However, McKenzie retired from teaching this year and the community is welcomed to show their appreciation to McKenzie during a party. The event will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the Barranca Mesa Park Pavilion. Beverages, cake and hamburgers will be provided and participants are encouraged to bring a side dish.
If the weather is not ideal, the party will be moved to the Los Alamos School of Gymnastics.
