John McBride resigns from girls golf
Los Alamos Hilltopper girls golf head coach John McBride has resigned his post, Los Alamos High School’s athletic office announced Thursday afternoon.
Hilltopper boys head coach John Stam will oversee both programs for the balance of the season.
No reason was given for McBride’s resignation.
Kirk’s game Saturday will be streamed
Los Alamos Hilltopper star basketball player Alex Kirk will be featured in the showcase game of the Jack Jones Shootout Saturday.
The game will be streamed on the Internet at www.gohssn.com. Game time is 2 p.m.
Isotopes win in extras
The Albuquerque Isotopes needed extra innings to top Oklahoma City on opening day Thursday.
Albuquerque scored twice in the top of the ninth, coming back from a 3-1 deficit, then scored three runs with two outs and no one on base to win Thursday’s game in 13 innings, 6-3.
Tim Corcoran (1-0) picked up the win on the mound for the Isotopes after holding Oklahoma City scoreless in both the 11th and 12th innings. Jon Link earned the save (1).
The Isotopes continue their series with Oklahoma City through Sunday. They open at Isotopes Park Monday against the New Orleans Zephyrs.
