Election night coverage

The Los Alamos Monitor news team is planning to bring you extensive coverage of local and regional races on election night, Nov. 2. Be sure to check out the newspaper’s Web site, lamonitor.com, for live-streaming video of polling results as they are posted at the Justice Center. Watch live interviews with candidates, and get up to the minute election returns posted throughout the evening. The live-steaming video event will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Book signing

“Valles Caldera:  A Geologic History,” talk and book-signing by Fraser Goff, UNM professor and LANL researcher on geothermal and volcanic formations. Goff will speak about the landscape of the Valles Caldera at 7 p.m. Wednesday at PEEC (Pajarito Environmental Education Center), 3540 Orange St., Free and open to the public.
Meeting update

Design is underway for the NM 4 Alignment & Trails Improvements Projects.  The County Council adopted the 2-lane alternative for N.M. 4 and the recommended multi-use path / trail connections along the Cañada del Buey Arroyo.County staff invites you to attend a public meeting to review the preliminary design of the projects.  Please join the NM 4 Project Team on Nov. 3, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Fuller Lodge in the Pajarito Room.  A presentation will begin at 6 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.
