The Los Alamos Study Group will host a panel discussion entitled “The New Disarmament Movement” at 6 p.m. Thursday in Santa Fe. The event will be held at the Santa Fe Woman’s Club, 1616 Old Pecos Trail.
Speakers include Ray Acheson, the director of the “Reaching Critical Will” (RCW) project, which is the disarmament program of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF); Mia Gandenberger, visiting disarmament fellow of the Los Alamos Study Group and Greg Mello, the executive director of the Los Alamos Study Group.
The public is invited to tour the new municipal building from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday — tours led by county staff will depart from the main lobby in small groups approximately every 15 minutes, with the last tour beginning at 10:15. The tour is expected to take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
At 11 a.m., the public is invited to attend the official grand opening and building dedication ceremony hosted by the county council.
The Juvenile Justice Advisory Board’s next meeting will be at 6 p.m. tonight in Building no. 1, Camino Entrada Road, Pajarito Cliffs Site. The public is welcome to attend.
