UNM-LA will host “University Experience,” from July 23-27. This program is a newly designed and invigorated version of what was once called “Children’s College.”
This program includes two components, the “University Adventures” program for students entering grades 4-7 and “University Explorations” for older students entering grades 7-12. Seventh graders may select either program, depending on their interests.
For students entering 4th-7th grades, the “University Adventures” components of the program will be from 8 a.m. to noon each morning. Students will rotate through five different courses, one course per day. The topics will include robotics, chemistry, alternative energy, rockets and biology. Courses will present concepts and include a hands-on activity or experiments to reinforce the material, as well as provide some interesting and fun ways to learn. Students may bring their own snack. Water will be provided. This program will be limited to 100 students.
