Well, the 2009 United Way campaign is over and thanks to all of you, the United Way of Northern New Mexico will be able to help many agencies help many people.
The generous giving from those living here put the campaign over the $2 million mark. It is something to be proud of.
With all the uncertanties in the economy and nation, for us to dig so deep and allow all these agencies the chance to really help those in need, is truly remarkable.
Here are the agencies that we have all helped:
• American Red Cross, Los Alamos/Rio Arriba Service Center provides relief to victims of disaster and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
• Amigos del Valle is an Española area in-home senior service program whose sole purpose is to provide services which will enable senior adults to remain independent within their own homes with a respectable and safe style of life.
• The Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico provides holistic services to victims, children and perpetrators of domestic and sexual violence.
