The New Mexico School Boards Association honored two Los Alamos School Board members with leadership awards for 2007.President Alison Beckman received the “Outstanding Leadership Award” for her successful completion of the cumulative 36 hours of Level II of the Leadership Development Program set by the board of directors of the New Mexico School Boards Association. Beckman also earned the “Exemplary Award” acknowledging her completion of 20 or more hours of mandated training within the 2006-2007 school program year.Girrens was honored with the “Leadership Achievement Award” for his successful completion of the cumulative 24 hours of training for Level I of the Leadership Development Program.Superintendent James Anderson presented Beckman and Girrens with their awards during Tuesday’s school board meeting in the district boardroom.In other business, Anderson told the board another meeting with the Boyer Company is scheduled for Thursday regarding the Trinity Site Project.“We’re hoping almost everything will be wrapped up,” Anderson said.
