ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The Tuesday morning rush hour will greet Interstate 25 drivers traveling south past Bernalillo with some new twists and turns.
The state Department of Transportation said that starting Monday night, there will be various lane closures on southbound I-25 near the south Bernalillo exit as crews rebuild the interstate between Tramway Boulevard and Bernalillo.
Crews will be switching southbound traffic onto the northbound side of Interstate 25.
Department of Transportation district spokesman Phil Gallegos said it's going to be a big change for people in the morning and southbound drivers especially should be alert.
There will still be two lanes of traffic in each direction with the speed limit reduced to 55 mph.
State police plan to aggressively enforce traffic laws in the construction area.
