The weather was cold, windy, at times snowy and miserable from start to finish. In other words, it was just another April home meet for the Los Alamos Hilltopper track and field teams.Los Alamos’ boys and girls made their first home appearance of the season Friday, hosting the Los Alamos Quadrangular meet. The two teams were ungracious hosts to their visitors, trouncing all three in team competition. The Hilltopper girls finished with 206 points, winning 12 of the 19 events Friday at Sullivan Field. Meanwhile, the ’Topper boys took 13 events, and all but two of the track events, to finish with 233 points, finishing with 100 more points than second-place Belen.“It was definitely hard with the weather,” Hilltopper Ariana Rowberry said after coming from behind at the halfway point to win the girls 3200 meters. “It (the wind) definitely slowed down my time, especially on the backstretch. You could really feel it, but you have to work through it.”Several Hilltoppers had multiple wins Friday.
