Los Alamos High School will remain in District 2 for the 2-year block starting in August, according to the New Mexico Activities Association.

The NMAA released its redistricting proposal for the next two years on Wednesday.

Los Alamos will move into Class 5A, although that move up in classification affects all teams. Class 5A under the new proposal is similar to the current Class 4A.

The biggest change in District 2 is that Del Norte, from Albuquerque, will replace Santa Fe. Santa Fe, which has seen an enrollment spike in the most recent three years, will move up to Class 6A under the proposal.

The other teams in District 2 (Bernalillo, Capital, Española Valley) will remain as well.

More information on the proposal will be in Thursday’s Los Alamos Monitor.
