'Toppers downed by Horsemen

A rough first quarter put the Los Alamos Hilltopper boys basketball team in an early hole.

The St. Michael's Horsemen outscored the Hilltoppers 21-5 in the first eight minutes of Thursday's game at Griffith Gymnasium en route to a 66-36 victory. The loss dropped the Hilltoppers to 0-5 on the season.

In girls basketball Thursday, Los Alamos picked up a road win over the Albuquerque Academy Chargers, 41-30.
