5-millionth fan goes through Isotopes gates
A routine night at the ballpark for one Albuquerque family proved to be anything but routine, as Myja Peterson became the 5-millionth fan to attend an Albuquerque Isotopes game since the team’s inception in 2003.
Peterson, her husband Gundar, son Noah, and mother-in-law Elizabeth attended Isotopes Park July 9 and were greeted after coming through the turnstile by Isotopes general manager John Traub and Orbit, who informed her she was the team’s 5-millionth visitor.
For being the lucky fan, Peterson received two round-trip tickets to Los Angeles on American Airlines, two hotel nights courtesy of Classic Travel and two tickets to a Dodgers game.
The Isotopes reached the 4 million-fan milestone Aug. 26, 2009. It took just 124 games for the team to rack up its next million visitors.
The Isotopes have drawn 353,405 fans this year, third most in the Pacific Coast League.
All-Star Game is tonight in Salt Lake City
