Isotopes swept by RedHawks
The Albuquerque Isotopes were swept in a doubleheader Tuesday at Oklahoma City, snapping the team’s four-game win streak.
The Isotopes (37-28), however, still maintained a hold of first place in the PCL American Southern division despite losing both ends of Tuesday’s road twinbill. They will wrap up their series at Oklahoma City Thursday and then return home for eight games starting Friday night.
Albuquerque managed just 11 hits and three runs in the two games.
Oklahoma City’s Wesley Wright, making an emergency start in the opening game, held Albuquerque to just one hit in four innings of work. Three RedHawk pitchers combined for a 2-0 shutout win.
In the nightcap, the RedHawks picked up a 5-3 victory. Jerry Sands, who had a three-run homer Monday, had a RBI single in that game for the Isotopes to tie the score at 2-2 in the third, but the RedHawks would go back up one inning later.
