Isotopes win 4th straight
The Albuquerque Isotopes jumped on the Round Rock Express early Monday night and rallied in the sixth and seventh innings to cruise to a comfortable win.
Albuquerque scores five times in the bottom of the first and scored a combined five runs in the sixth and seventh to knock off the Express 12-5 at Isotopes Park.
The Isotopes pounded out 17 hits against the Express, with their Nos. 5-9 batters, Luis Cruz, Josh Fields, Tim Federowicz and Brian Cavazos-Galvez each coming through with three hits on the night.
The win was the fourth in a row for Albuquerque, who have lost just one game during its current homestand. It has two more contests against Round Rock, tonight and Wednesday night, before a quick four-game trip to Iowa.
With its current win streak, Albuquerque has moved back to within 1-1/2 games of Oklahoma City atop the division standings.
Pitcher John Ely improved to 6-4 on the season, going five innings and giving up two earned runs.
