Isotopes lose at Memphis Tuesday
The Memphis Redbirds scored six times in their final three at-bats Tuesday to break open a tight ballgame against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
Following an Albuquerque score in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 4-4, the Redbirds scored once in the bottom of the sixth, twice in the bottom of the seventh and three more in the bottom of the eight to win going away, 10-4.
Albuquerque, which is in the middle of a 12-game road trip, its longest out-of-town venture of the season, has lost four of its last five on this road swing. Tuesday night’s game was the opener of a four-game set with Memphis.
Albuquerque scored three times in the top of the fourth, erasing a 3-0 deficit. Albuquerque never led in the game, however, with Memphis scoring in the bottom of the fourth to retake the lead.
Despite the difficult road trip, the Isotopes (28-23) are still just 1-1/2 games back of division-leading Round Rock. The Isotopes play at Round Rock following the Memphis series.
