Isotopes bats quieted vs. Bees

The Salt Lake City Bees salvaged a split of their series against the Albuquerque Isotopes with a win Tuesday night.
Salt Lake City pitchers again quelled the Isotopes’ bats. After topping the Isotopes 3-2 Monday, the Bees held the Isotopes to a lone run in the third inning, winning 4-1.
Eric Hurley threw seven innings Tuesday, allowing just two hits and striking out four to pick up the win. Hurley (3-3) went into the game giving up nearly seven earned runs per outing.
John Ely (3-3) threw well for the Isotopes, giving up three runs on four hits in 6-1/3 innings, but the most offense his team could come up with was a solo home run by Tyler Henson in the third inning.
Albuquerque (24-16) had won its three previous series before Tuesday’s loss.
Albuquerque, which today has its first day off in 20 days, now heads home for its longest homestand of the season starting Thursday against Sacramento.
