Isotopes top Zephyrs 13-8 to win series
The Albuquerque Isotopes won their second home series of the 2011 season with a 13-8 Tuesday.
Albuquerque (11-8) scored all of its runs in bunches at Isotopes Park, scoring three times in the first, third and eighth innings and four more in the fourth to take the victory over the New Orleans Zephyrs.
Today, the Isotopes are traveling to Nashville for a quick four-game road swing before returning home Monday to face Omaha.
The win Tuesday was Albuquerque’s third win of the four-game series. Dana Eveland (3-1 3.86 ERA) went five innings to earn the victory.
Offensively, Isotopes catcher Damaso Espino led with five RBI while going 4-for-5. The Isotopes pounded out 18 hits off four New Orleans pitchers.
Jamie Hoffman went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs scored.
