Isotopes top I-Cubs again
The Albuquerque Isotopes are going for a sweep of the Iowa Cubs tonight after picking up a 4-3 win at home Thursday night.
The Isotopes, who lost three of four contests at Iowa, will have Michael Parisi (0-0, 3.60 ERA) on the mound tonight to try to complete the four-game sweep. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Albuquerque fell behind 2-0 after half an inning, but scored runs in the sixth and seventh and held Iowa scoreless after the fourth to earn the win.
Jerry Sands knocked in Trent Oeltjen in the sixth and pinch-hitter Joe Becker knocked in Jeff Baisley in the seventh.
Isotopes starting pitcher John Ely (1-1) went seven innings for the victory. He gave up three earned runs and struck out five batters.
The Isotopes open an eight-game road swing Saturday at Oklahoma City.
