Tom Nagawiecki, environmental services specialist for Los Alamos County, has been elected to the Board of the New Mexico Recycling Coalition.
Nagawiecki coordinates public education and outreach for the County’s Environmental Services comprehensive waste and recycling programs that are provided to residents and the business community.
Nagawiecki said, “I am very excited and honored to be on the NMRC Board. I look forward to being a part of such a strong and influential organization, and helping increase its strength and impact in the next two years.”
Nagawiecki’s other duties include leading the County’s sustainability initiative, which is focused on reducing the environmental impact of County operations, in addition to educating residents about their role in the effort.
The New Mexico Recycling Coalition is a 19-year-old organization dedicated to leading New Mexico to value waste as a resource.
Nagawiecki is one of three new members elected to the NMRC Board.
The other two newcomers are Suzanne Michaels, in charge of Public Outreach and Education for the South Central Solid Waste Authority in Las Cruces, and Charles Fiedler, a Senior Project Director with Gordon Environmental, Inc. of Bernalillo.
