Time for locked mailboxes

The following letter has been sent to the Los Alamos Post Master:

The time has come to have locked mail boxes for home deliveries. Considering gas prices, it seems that groups of mailboxes would be not only more time-efficient but also more cost-efficient for the mail service.

A second reason for locked mailboxes is quite obvious in today’s world, with identity theft so persistent. Locked mailboxes would avoid a lot of pilfering, tampering, vandalism and knocked down mailboxes. We live on a cul-de-sac and we would need to walk a bit farther to get our mail but it would offer a lot more peace of mind.

Please consider having locked boxes for home deliveries.
