In keeping with the season, I would like to thank everyone in the community who has contributed so graciously to the LANB account established in my name following September’s trial. Many of your names are not available to me through bank records, so I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your overwhelming generosity.
I am grateful to all of you for the steadfast support you have given me, especially during extended periods of litigation. Your thoughts and prayers gave me strength when my confidence was shaken; your care and concern gave me courage when my convictions were challenged. I have found particular comfort in a quote that friends shared with me, words of Martin Luther King Jr.: “Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”
Again, thank you all for your thoughtfulness and your kindness. I believe Los Alamos is an even safer place for our children now.
