House of Hope and Shop on the Corner says thanks
Our recent “High Tea and Fashion Show” were a complete success! The monies earned will go toward the House of Hope Women’s upcoming 6th annual house building trip to Juárez, Mexico.
Although each member of the team pays her own lodging and meal expenses, several thousand dollars are needed for the house materials and to pay the local laborers.
Nearly every chair in the house was filled by a wonderful variety of patrons from the community, including a number of children.
We received many compliments and requests for the event to be repeated in the near future. We sincerely thank the Monitor for the lovely story a week ahead of the event and KRSN radio for their publicity.
Trinity on the Hill’s Kelly Hall was a beautiful venue and we appreciate those who helped preparing the facility and arranging the public address system.
The tea was made possible by the efforts of nearly 50 volunteers from the House of Hope team, from the workers from the Shop on the Corner thrift shop and from our families and many of our friends in the community.
We are especially grateful for those who helped to create the “sweet and savory treats” served on borrowed fine china dishes and for those who modeled the stunning outfits from the thrift shop inventory.
The Shop on the Corner is open every Wednesday morning from 8:45 until 11:15 and until 12:30 on the first Wednesday of the month.
All proceeds from Shop sales go to charitable agencies in Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Come and check us out!
