The 13th annual CROP Hunger Walk/Turkey Trot, a 2.57 mile fun walk/run, will be the Sunday before Thanksgiving, at 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at the middle school.
The CROP Walk donates 25 percent of its funds to LA Cares, which provides food to local families in need. The other 75 percent of funds raised go toward national and international poverty and hunger-reducing programs, to make positive improvements at life-changing levels.
If you are a local business or family and would like to sponsor us for a donation of $100 or more, your logo or phrase will go on the back of our shirts. Individuals or families often use a phrase such as “in memory of ...,” or “the ________ family.”
We are thankful for our many business sponsors from last year: The Animal Clinic of Los Alamos, Caldera Pharmaceuticals, Eye Associates of New Mexico, The Finishing Touch, Golden Aspen Massage Therapy, Otowi Station Bookstore, Home Run Pizza, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, CB Fox, Los Alamos Chiropractic, LA Fitness Center and the Los Alamos Monitor.
This year we are saddened that Aaron Goldman will not be here in person to inspire us, as he did so many times in the past. He quietly went about getting things done behind the scenes and motivated others to help out.
If you would like to volunteer or have questions about the Los Alamos CROP walk, please contact Laura at 672-2724 or firstname.lastname@example.org, or Lynn at 661-9619 or email@example.com.
